This is probably my family’s favorite lasagna recipe, and being Italian, we’ve tried quite a few. If you like a little bolder of flavor you can also add ground sausage to the meat mixture. At the end of the meal you could always add a nice fruit salad.
1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
28 oz jar spaghetti sauce
8 oz packaged lasagna noodles, uncooked
5 cups mozzarella cheese
2 cups cottage cheese
1-cup parmesan cheese
½ tsp black pepper
Cook beef, onion and garlic together in saucepan until browned; drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce and pepper. Mix well. In separate bowl combine the cheeses. Spread ¼ of the meat sauce into your Rival Crock Pot, or other slow cooker, then 1/3 of the noodles, and 1/3 of the cheese mixture. Repeat layers twice and then top with the remaining meat sauce. Cover, and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
